The Rebel Bear Fear and Love

- originally painted on the streets of Glasgow in 2020.

The Rebel Bear Fear and Love was originally painted on the streets of Glasgow in 2020, at the height of the UK’s first COVID lockdown. It captures an intimate moment between two masked figures, symbolising both the disruption and resilience of human connection in crisis.

The Rebel Bear Fear and Love has been repainted at container scale for the BOXXS Linlithgow exhibition in Mill Road Industrial Estate on 6 July 2025.
The piece stands as a reminder of the hope that carried us through uncertain times.

The artist captioned the original: “A time will come when; the masks can be pulled down, the borders will reopen, and connections can be remade – hopefully stronger than ever.”
