The Rebel Bear I Hope You Never Fit In

- Originally painted in Leith in 2024.

The Rebel Bear I Hope You Never Fit In brings together graffiti artist Ben Saville’s signature phrase and The Rebel Bear’s distinctive visual style. The Bear first encountered the pink-lettered phrase sprayed on a wall in London and was so struck by its message that he reached out to its author. That conversation led to a creative collaboration.

The resulting mural features a smiling, colourfully dressed older woman, leaning on a cane and standing tall beneath the now-iconic phrase. It’s a tribute to self-expression, eccentricity, and embracing who you are—loudly, boldly, and unapologetically.

The Rebel Bear I Hope You Never Fit In has been repainted at full scale for the BOXXS Linlithgow exhibition at Mill Road Industrial Estate on 6 July 2025. This piece invites visitors to find joy in standing out rather than blending in.
