The Rebel Bear Lock Pick

- Originally painted in London in 2023.

‘Lock Pick’ was painted by The Rebel Bear in London in 2023. A cloaked figure embraces a woman, both of them locked in an intimate moment – but with one hand subtly working at her heart with a lock pick.

When asked to explain the work, The Rebel Bear said: “No explanation for this piece. Just whatever you take from it.”

The Rebel Bear Lock Pick has been repainted at container scale for the BOXXS Linlithgow exhibition at Mill Road Industrial Estate on 6 July 2025.
‘Lock Pick’ invites stillness, curiosity, and quiet introspection. The message is yours to decide.
