The Rebel Bear Walkies

- Originally painted in Glasgow in 2024.

The Rebel Bear Walkies was painted in Glasgow in 2024 and shows a robotic humanoid calmly walking a pair of human men on all fours. The disturbing role reversal highlights society’s increasing submission to artificial intelligence – whether knowingly or passively.

The Rebel Bear Walkies piece is a take on how quickly we’ve accepted algorithmic influence and machine dominance in everyday life. With quiet irony and confronting imagery, it asks: who’s really in control?

The Rebel Bear Walkies has been repainted at full scale on a BOXXS self storage container in Linlithgow and will be on display on 6 July 2025 at our exhibition in Mill Road Industrial Estate. ‘Walkies’ is a provocative reminder to stop and examine the leash we might not even realise we’re on.
