The Rebel Bear
and BOXXS

Who is The Rebel Bear?

Sunday 6th July | 11:00am – 4:00pm | Mill Road Industrial Estate, Linlithgow

Who is the Rebel Bear?

Nobody knows for sure. And that is exactly the point.

The Rebel Bear is an anonymous street artist from Scotland, known for bold, emotional murals painted directly onto city walls across the world. His work has appeared in London, Paris, Mumbai, Oslo, and New York, often emerging overnight. Vivid, striking, and unannounced. He appears only while wearing a full-body pink bear suit, part protest, part performance, part playful disguise.

His art speaks directly to the world around us, addressing themes like technology’s influence, surveillance, human connection, protest, war, and mental health. Each piece carries a message, even if it is never fully explained.

A bear with something to say

There is no interview circuit. No published agenda.

Just public images, sometimes delicate, sometimes defiant, placed where people will see them, whether they mean to or not.

From lovers separated by masks to AI leading humans on leashes, from mooning riot police to digital currency miners, The Rebel Bear’s work challenges the way we live, scroll, connect, and consume.

While he rarely explains his pieces, one came with just this line:
“No explanation for this piece. Just whatever you take from it.”

Why we brought The Bear to BOXXS

We have always believed that storage space can be more than just metal and locks. It can hold culture, spark conversation, and make people look twice.

This summer, we are proud to host the world’s first container-based Rebel Bear exhibition, not in a gallery, but across the sides of industrial units at BOXXS Self Storage in Linlithgow.

For the first time, the artist is also signing selected works, making this exhibition not just powerful, but personal.

It is unexpected. It is industrial. It is open to everyone. Exactly how it should be.
